A research desk for people who invest their own money.
Norwic Finance publishes market research for people who invest their own money and do not have a research desk behind them. This page says why it exists, how the research is made, who is accountable for it, and the standards we hold ourselves to.
Why this exists
Institutional investors have research desks. They have someone whose job is to read every release overnight, work out which of them matter, and put a defensible view on the table before the market opens.
Individual investors get the opposite: an infinite feed, optimised for engagement rather than accuracy, where the loudest headline wins and nobody is accountable for being wrong. The information is not scarce — the filtering is.
Norwic Finance is an attempt to build that desk as a flat subscription instead of a percentage of your assets. We read the noise; you get the signal. What we produce is research, not advice — the distinction matters legally and it matters practically, and we keep it visible on every page.
Editorial responsibility
Nothing is published automatically. Every piece of research is reviewed by a human editor before it goes out: someone reads the conclusion against the evidence behind it, cuts confidence the evidence does not support, and can hold a piece entirely. That person is accountable for corrections afterwards.
Editorial standards, review and corrections sit with one editorial owner. If you disagree with something we published, write to norwicfinance@gmail.com — substantive challenges get a substantive answer, and where you are right we correct the piece and say so.
The editorial model
We are explicit about how the research is made, because you cannot judge a source you do not understand.
Norwic Finance produces AI-assisted research under human editorial supervision. Automated systems, including large language models, do the work that scales: reading every macro release, filing and headline overnight, extracting structure from them, and drafting into a fixed analytical schema. A human editor reviews, validates and takes responsibility for what is published.
Volume and structure
Reads thousands of items overnight, extracts what changed, drafts into a fixed schema that cannot omit risks or invalidation levels.
Verification
Numbers come from official sources, not model memory. Automated gates block temporal errors, invented sectors and empty fields.
Judgement and accountability
Checks the conclusion against the evidence, cuts unsupported confidence, holds what cannot be defended — and signs off.
We do not claim this is written by hand, and we do not pretend the models are not there. Both claims would be false, and the one we see most often in this industry — a machine-generated newsletter presented as a human analyst — is the one that does the most damage to readers. The full process is documented on the Method page.
Editorial standards
These are the rules the editor enforces. They exist to make our research boring in the ways research should be boring.
- Evidence before conclusion. A verdict has to follow from what is on the page. If the argument does not carry it, the verdict changes — not the argument.
- Sources are traceable. Macro figures come from official statistical series. Attributed causes carry a source and a date.
- Uncertainty is stated, not hidden. Where evidence is thin, the language says so. “We do not know why this moved” is publishable; a fabricated reason is not.
- Risks are as visible as the thesis. Every call states what would prove it wrong, at what level, and by when.
- No hype vocabulary. No urgency, no “must own”, no language that reads as a personal recommendation. Certain phrasings are blocked automatically before publication.
- Research, never advice. Nothing is written for an individual reader’s circumstances, because we do not know them.
- The record stands. Published calls stay published, including the wrong ones.
Corrections policy
We get things wrong. What matters is what happens next.
- Material errors — a wrong figure, a misattributed cause, a broken thesis — are corrected promptly and marked visibly on the piece, with the date and what changed. We do not silently edit a published call.
- Minor errors — typos, formatting, a broken link — are fixed without a notice.
- Changed views are published as an update, not as a rewrite of the original. The archive keeps what we said at the time.
- Reader reports go to norwicfinance@gmail.com. Tell us what is wrong and where; we will reply and, where you are right, credit the correction.
Independence and funding
Norwic Finance is funded by subscriptions paid by readers. That is the entire business model, and it is deliberate: the only party we have to satisfy is the person reading.
We charge a flat price rather than a percentage of assets, so we earn nothing extra when your portfolio grows and nothing less when it shrinks — and we have no incentive to encourage trading. We do not accept payment for coverage, do not run sponsored research, do not take commissions or rebates from brokers or issuers, and do not sell reader data.
Conflicts of interest
Our editorial team may hold personal positions in securities or crypto-assets that we write about — a research publisher whose staff owns nothing is usually a research publisher whose staff has no skin in the game. What matters is that holdings never drive coverage.
- Coverage decisions and verdicts are made on the analysis, never on personal exposure.
- Material personal positions in a covered name are disclosed.
- Nobody trades ahead of a published call in a way designed to benefit from its publication.
- Any commercial relationship that could look like a conflict is disclosed on the piece it affects.
What we don’t do
- We are not an investment adviser. We are not registered with the CMVM or any other financial regulator, and we do not provide personalised advice, portfolio management or brokerage. See the Financial Disclaimer.
- We do not hold your money. We never touch client assets, and we will never ask you to transfer funds anywhere.
- We do not promise returns. Nobody who does should be trusted with your attention.
- We do not sell signals or run a trading group. What we publish is research you read and judge for yourself.
- We do not hide the misses. They stay in the track record.
